A new Hangar 13 job ad reveals that the studio's current project is in the pre-production phase.
Hangar 13 has indicated that its current project is now in the pre-production stage.
The studio has recently published a job ad for a Tools Engineer and its description reveals that this specialist will work on a multi-platform Unreal Engine 5-powered game that is currently in pre-production.
While the job description doesn't explicitly mention the title of the game, it's likely that it refers to a new installment in the Mafia series.
This lines up with the developer's confirmation last August that it was indeed working on a new Mafia game. At the time of the announcement, Hangar 13 noted that the game was in the very early stages and that it would take several years of development before any additional details can be disclosed.
The pre-production phase indicates that the game is likely to be released no sooner than 2-3 years from now, with the timeline potentially varying based on the game's scope and scale. Various sources had earlier reported that the upcoming title would serve as a prequel to the entire series, narrating the events that occurred during the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
