1,500 more lines of Minthara.

Larian Studios has just rolled out its first patch for Baldur's Gate 3, fixing a lot (and I mean a lot) of issues. But there are more updates to come, and they're going to be significant.
Patch 2 will be huge as well, with Larian diligently working on the game based on players' feedback. And if you're fond of a certain drow, you'll love it the most. In an interview with IGN, director Swen Vincke revealed that the patch will fix a "very, very stupid bug" that blocked about 1,500 lines of Minthara content. Apparently, everything worked just fine in previous versions, but now there is an issue that the studio is dealing with.
"The game is super reactive and there were a couple of bugs that caused some of the companions to not react as they should. And so that felt like the content was not showing up. So you weren't seeing it specifically with Minthara," Vincke said. "So [lead writer Adam Smith] told me there's about 1500 lines of Minthara that weren't showing up as a result of a very, very stupid bug that we now isolated. So we're solving it."

Despite the good news, if you are hoping to get a whole origin story for her, like with other companions, you'll be disappointed. Minthara has always been a "sidekick", according to Vincke, there to serve one of the antagonists. The new lines will probably let you know her more but there won't be a personal quest.
"It doesn't help that some of her lines are not triggering. So that doesn't do her justice. But she never had a real actual quest — an origin quest... what you have for some of the others inside of act 3.. So people that were looking for that, it's just not there."

You might have heard about some cut content for Minthara that data miners found, but don't get your hopes up: it was removed "because it became too complicated," so don't expect to see it in the game.
However, the character might play a bigger role in the future as Larian Studios is open to further feedback.
"[W]e'll first fix what her problem is that blocks her content, and then we'll see how she's going to land with the fans, and then we'll see if we can do something extra with her. I mean, the feedback to the game has been phenomenal and overwhelming for us. So, it's definitely much more than we expected. So, we're taking it all in, and then we're...filtering through it. And so we'll see where it goes.
"We made this game for the players, for them to enjoy it. If there's things that don't really land, I think you can be rest assured that we'll probably do something about it at some point, except that we can't do miracles. We're still a limited team with a limited amount of people that have been working very, very hard on making this."

Minthara is not the only beloved character in Baldur's Gate 3 who didn't get what she deserved, according to players, and Larian hears them. Karlach will get a new epilogue that will "make a lot of people happy." Vincke hinted that if you see a cigar, you're in the right place.
The new patch will also improve co-op, performance, and a "number of other things people have been asking about." The best part is that the team will start "incorporating feedback into Origin Character epilogues" after Patch 2 is released. You can find out more about it here.
But when will it happen? Larian promises that the update is "around the corner," so stay tuned.
