NieR: Automata Sales Exceeded 6.5 Million Copies

The game has sold another million units since the last sales update.

Worldwide sales of PlatinumGames's action RPG NieR: Automata have exceeded 6.5 million copies. The news was announced on the NieR PR Twitter account revealing that this figure includes both physical and digital sales.

The new figure reflects that the game has sold another million units since the last sales update in February 2021.

NieR: Automata is a sequel to the 2010's NieR, which is itself a spin-off of the Drakengard series. It was initially released in February 2017 for PC and PlayStation 4. The project was developed by PlatinumGames, creators of the Vanquish and Bayonetta series.

The game was well-perceived by players and over the five years of its existence, it managed to receive multiple nominations in various categories and won several game awards including The Game Awards, NAVGTR, Japan Game Awards, and Game Developers Choice Awards.

NieR: Automata is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The developer is also working on the Nintendo Switch port which will launch on October 6 this year. The Switch version will include all previously released DLC along with new exclusive outfits.
