It's always a pleasure to feel closer to your favorite project, and one of the most meaningful ways is to get an autograph from a person who contributed to creating it. In recent years, this has become easier than ever – you can simply buy an autographed item online. However, there's no guarantee that what you're purchasing is truly authentic.
One of the fans shared an image of a disc featuring the Nier soundtrack, allegedly signed by Yoko Taro, the renowned developer and the creative mind behind many acclaimed games, including the Nier and Drakengard series. However, Yoko Taro commented that the autograph in question was fake. "I include small unknown features in my real autographs to prevent reselling, so I can tell when one isn't genuine," he explained.
The creator also warned fans that many of the signed items sold online are not authentic: "I've confirmed that nearly half of the autographs being resold are actually fake, so please don't buy them."

Naturally, the developer didn't reveal which "small features" he adds to his signatures, so fans need to carefully make sure that the autograph they get is real.
