Nier Director Yoko Taro Is Writing New Neon Genesis Evangelion Anime

It is co-produced by the original Evangelion creator's studio.

Gainax

Huge news for Neon Genesis Evangelion fans: a new anime series is in production, and the composition and screenplay are being worked on by Yoko Taro, the legendary Nier director.

As reported by IGN, it is co-produced by the original Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno’s Studio Khara and CloverWorks, as announced at the Evangelion:30+; 30th Anniversary of Evangelion event. The series will be directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (Rebuild of Evangelion) and Toko Yatabe (a key animator on Rebuild).

The music will be provided by Keiichi Okabe, who has worked on Nier, Drakengard, and Tekken. This will be a new series, and Taro seems excited to be taking part.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a cult show that started in 1995 and is still collecting fans of all ages. It's curious to see what this new anime has to offer, especially written by Taro.
