Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa revealed this plan in a recent interview. Furukawa stated that the company is working on software (games and expansions) that should be released by the end of the fiscal year, which ends in March 2025.
As per a recent report, Nintendo discussed its new next-gen handheld console with Activision all the way back in December 2022, nearly two years before the console's expected launch.
Furukawa did not respond to questions about the new console but noted that Nintendo's main goal with any product is to release what consumers truly want.
The Nintendo President shared that the company is expanding its internal team of developers as the game development process becomes more complex. The company is open to acquiring other studios, but they must understand Nintendo's approach to development. Otherwise, it won't work out.
