As for now, the Nintendo DS is holding the highest position in overall hardware sales with over 154 million copies sold.
According to the latest financial results shared by Nintendo, the combined sales of all iterations of the Switch have surpassed a remarkable milestone of 130 million units. As of September 30, 2023, the cumulative sales of Nintendo Switch units, encompassing the regular model, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED, have reached an impressive 132.46 million, marking an increase from last quarter's 129.53 million.
Furthermore, the total software sales on the Switch have soared to an astounding 1.133 billion units, surpassing the relatively modest figure of 948.76 million units achieved by the Nintendo DS.
Nintendo's hardware sales have experienced a year-on-year growth of 2.4% during the first two quarters since April 2023, reaching a total of 6.86 million unit sales. This increase, albeit not substantial, is noteworthy considering the console's advanced stage in its lifecycle, with games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom contributing significantly to this achievement, having sold nearly 20 million copies, and Pikmin 4 with sales of 2.61 million units.
