Hello Games says that even if it had a thousand people working on it, "it'd still seem impossible."
Sean Murray, co-founder and managing director at Hello Games, shared that the studio's new project is not a sequel to No Man's Sky but it's just as ambitious.
"For a while now we've been working on something pretty ambitious in the background. It's a small team but we like it that way," he told IGN. "Similar to No Man's Sky, it's the kind of project that even if we had a thousand people working on it, it'd still seem impossible."
The new project is still in early development, and Murray didn't give any other information, having "learned his lesson" with the studio's most popular game. He only said that the development of the new title will not affect No Man's Sky.
"No Man's Sky is not being held back by the next project but neither is the new thing being slowed by No Man's Sky. We're lucky enough to be able to allow folks to move freely to work on what excites them."
While you're waiting for the news about the mysterious project, you can enjoy No Man's Sky's latest update Outlaws, which came out yesterday and introduced outlaw systems, the ability to recruit a squadron of pilots, improved space combat, and a Solar Sail Starship.
