NVIDIA Announced Ray Tracing Updates for Diablo 4, Black Myth Wukong & Other Games

Also NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Star Wars Outlaws, and more.

NVIDIA announced the DLSS and ray tracing updates for a range of games at GDC 2024.

Diablo 4 fans will be happy to know that the game will get ray-traced reflections and shadows on March 26. It means that armor, water, windows, and other reflective surfaces will get a new coat of paint and will look more realistic and accurate.

Another game many players might be interested in is Black Myth: Wukong, the long-awaited action RPG based on the classical 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The title launches on August 20 with full ray tracing enhanced by DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction. Water should look especially stunning with the tech on.

"Full Ray Tracing is a demanding but highly accurate way to render light and its effect on a scene. Also known as Path Tracing, this advanced ray tracing technique is used by visual effects artists to create film and TV graphics that are indistinguishable from reality, but until the arrival of GeForce RTX GPUs with RT Cores, and the AI-powered acceleration of NVIDIA DLSS, Full Ray Tracing in real-time video games was impossible."

The 60-player battle royal NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will also receive path tracing and DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction, enhancing global illumination, reflections, ambient occlusion, and shadows. Initially, full ray tracing will be available in three Player vs. Player and Player vs. Enemy areas, with others receiving upgrades over time.

NVIDIA has collaborated with Ubisoft and LucasFilm Games to deliver DLSS 3 to the open-world Star Wars Outlaws game from day one, later this year, "multiplying performance with DLSS Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards, and boosting performance considerably with DLSS Super Resolution on all other GeForce RTX GPUs."

Players can also enable NVIDIA Reflex to reduce latency as well as NVIDIA RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI) and ray-traced Global Illumination lighting.

Sengoku Dynasty and First Berserker: Khazan were both offered DLSS 3, while Outcast – A New Beginning is launching with day-one support for DLSS 2 and DLAA.

Moreover, Portal with RTX has been upgraded with NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and RTX IO, for faster texture loading.
