NVIDIA Reports Record $26.9 Billion Revenue
The company's full-year revenue reached $26.91 billion with its gaming division bringing almost half of it.
Following AMD and Intel, NVIDIA announced the highest quarterly and annual revenue in its history. The company's revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 reached $7.64 billion, displaying a 53% growth compared to the same period last year, while its full-year revenue also increased by 61% amounting to $26.91 billion.
The company also noted that its Gaming, Data Center, and Professional Visualization divisions earnings saw record results both in Q4 and the full year. Almost half of the total fiscal revenues were brought by the gaming division which earned $12.46 billion. The data center also grew 58% to $10.61 billion, while the professional visualization division rose 100% to $2.11 billion. NVIDIA's net income for the FY2021 amounted to $9.7 billion which is 125% higher than the year earlier.
The company attributes these results to the consistently high demand for GPUs with Ampere architecture for PCs and laptops and server and cloud platforms. The founder and CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang noted: "We are seeing exceptional demand for NVIDIA computing platforms. NVIDIA is propelling advances in AI, digital biology, climate sciences, gaming, creative design, autonomous vehicles, and robotics – some of today's most impactful fields."
Huang also pointed out that supply constraints are gradually decreasing, so the market supply will improve with each month. He added that NVIDIA will soon announce some new products and applications as well as new partners for NVIDIA computing. The company has already told about its long-term partnership with Jaguar Land Rover which will provide the automaker with safety and autonomous driving technologies developed by NVIDIA.
The CEO has also announced GTC 2022 which will take place from March 21 to March 24. At the visual conference, 1400 developers will make presentations on artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and graphics.
