The Unreal Engine 5.1 experience is almost ready.
Immortals of Aveum, a magic shooter from the creators of Call of Duty and Dead Space, has gone gold. It means the game is ready, and disks have been shipped to stores.
What makes the game notable is development: it is one of the first AAA games using Unreal Engine 5.1 and its Nanite geometry system together with the Lumen global illumination system. Before this, Epic Games utilized both techs in Fortnite.

"I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished: from building a world-class team, to learning Unreal 5, creating an amazing combat system and story, through the adversity of Covid, and so many more accomplishments along the way. It’s been the best experience of my professional life," said Ascendant Studios' founder Bret Robbins.

Immortals of Aveum is set in a fantasy universe filled with magic, rife with conflict, and on the verge of oblivion. This single-player action tells the story of Jak, an aspiring Immortal wielding powerful magic who tries to save the world torn apart by Everwar.
Expect fast and fluid spell-based combat, a variety of talents, magical gear, and a rich story full of mystery. Some abilities act a lot like guns, but there are still plenty of original takes on magic.
