This will give players something to do before ARK 2 comes out.
Several days ago, the world saw ARK: Survival Ascended, a remaster of the multiplayer game ARK: Survival Evolved filled with dinosaurs. It is powered by Unreal Engine 5, which gives the game a new coating with better lighting and physics.
If what you have is not enough for you, modders will provide extra content, as usual, and they'll be happy to know that ARK: Survival Ascended will soon get cross-platform mod support from Overwolf, a platform for creating, sharing, and monetizing in-game apps and mods.

This should give players something to play "while the team is moving on to ARK 2," said Uri Marchand, CEO of Overwolf in an interview with GamesBeat.
ARK 2 is a sequel to Studio Wildcard's survival game, co-developed with Grove Street Games. Also made on Unreal Engine 5, the game has been delayed to the end of 2024.

But back to ARK: Survival Ascended. This modding support, facilitated by Overwolf and CurseForge, will ensure the PC-crafted ARK mods will be compatible with consoles when the game comes out on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in November.
“In Ark the creative community has developed and shared a wide range of impressive mods that PC players enjoy,” said Thomas Williamson, CEO and technical director at Grove Street Games. “We’re excited to bring these to the console players as well, so now all Survivors have access to the brilliant mods that enhance and evolve the ARK experience.”
To celebrate the release of ARK: Survival Ascended, Overwolf and Studio Wildcard are going to host a modding competition for two categories of creators: one for DLC-level, premium mods created by game studios and another for modders. A total prize pool of $350,000 will be awarded to the most creative cross-platform mods that transform the Ark: Survival Ascended experience, Marchand said.
