A whole universe ready to be built by players.
Mainframe Industries announced its ambitious project called Pax Dei – a vast social sandbox MMO the developers see as an open-world playground where you choose your role and "craft your own stories".
Pax Dei allows you to explore the land, build a home, and forge your reputation. It is inspired by the legends of the medieval era and promises to be as historically accurate as possible.
The developers hope players will fill the universe with their own buildings and items one day. Everything is produced by the players' hands and skills here: clothes, walls, food, flowers, and prayers.
And if you'd like to leave your peaceful village life behind, the Wilderness has plenty of evil beings, mysteries, and rival Clans. Almost everything is procedural in this player-driven game: from your armor to the world around, which can change based on your decisions.
Some compare the intricate social aspects to Eve Online, and it's probably not surprising as Pax Dei's creative director, Reynir Hardarson, was one of the original creators behind Eve.
The developers aim to release the game for multiple platforms eventually, but for now, they are focused on PC launch whenever it happens – there is no release date yet.
