One of the original Fable's creators has commented on Playground's recent trailer.
Peter Molyneux, a renowned Game Designer and the creator of the original Fable series, has recently commented on Playground Games' recent trailer for the upcoming Fable reboot, revealed during Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase, saying that much like many other gamers he would have loved to see more gameplay.
In an interview with GameReactor, Molyneux praised the casting of Richard Ayoade for the upcoming title, describing it as "perfect" and appreciating the characters' quirky fascination with vegetables, which he believes captures the essence of the Fable series. He also acknowledged that the reboot shows great promise, but pointed out that the lack of gameplay footage in the trailer left him longing for more insight into the game's mechanics and features.
"I thought the casting of Richard [Ayoade] ... I thought the casting of him was perfect, making him obsessed about vegetables was very Fable," commented Molyneux. "Like you, I would have loved to see more gameplay, but I loved when the hero threw the fireball. I loved the sensation of the impact. I thought it was truly promising. So yes, my expectations are high."
"You know, the thing about Fable is you've got to remember, I can remember sitting when we were designing Fable originally and saying, I think we all agreed that Fable would be funny because of what the players does," he continued. "It's not funny because it's got lots of jokes. It actually didn't have any jokes really, but it was really funny because we allowed the player to react in ridiculous ways, and that ridiculousness still seemed to be there in the trailer."
Earlier, Playground Games' developer Lukaz Koelz also commented on the trailer, responding to the critics of the Fable reboot and saying that the game will look like in the trailer.
At the moment, the game's release date remains undisclosed. You can learn more about the upcoming reboot here. Also, don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
