Physically Simulated Rope Made for Dynamic Action Game

See how Withersworn is developing.

Solo game developer Andre Sargeant keeps sharing bits and pieces from his upcoming Unity-powered "high mobility, high action, high fantasy game" Withersworn. We've seen a cool wall interaction system and a grapple from there before, and now the artist has demonstrated a physically simulated rope with ragdoll mechanics that can attach to these walls.

You can just stick the rope to an enemy and let the physics take care of the rest – looks super fun and a little mean. They can also be suspended in the air if you feel especially sadistic.

Withersworn combines speed and style "to provide a free-flowing immersive experience" through a surreal dystopia "where the powerful resource Resin has technologically advanced the kingdom at the cost of its humanity. With the kingdom slipping away you are one of the elite knights sworn to stop the withering."

The rope allows you to surf across the land on a board Spider-Man-style and engage with the surroundings. The developer promises a deeply immersive story and beautiful vistas.
