Physics-Based Asset Scattering Tool for UE4
Here's a useful plugin that will help you fill your Unreal scenes with details.
Have a look at Dropper Plugin, a recently released editor mode for placing assets while simulating physics. The tool makes sure that objects do not come to rest in physically impossible spaces.
"When you open the new mode, the simulation will begin automatically. Then simply drag and drop the assets you want to scatter into the palette on the left. You can then paint down assets dynamically and watch as they fall," wrote the developer.
Features:
- Drop Assets dynamically throughout your scenes utilizing Unreal’s built-in physics simulation.
- Adjustable brush controls allow for a high degree of flexibility.
- Scale and rotate assets as they are dropped to increase variation.
- Physically simulated assets come to rest in natural locations, increasing the realism of your scenes.
- Supported asset types are Blueprints and Static Meshes.
- Static Meshes are converted to Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes when baked.
