Physics Constraint-Based Door In Unreal Engine 5

Flacastrexy is working on a game project.

A Reddit user named Flacastrexy shared this showcase of a physics-based door created in Unreal Engine 5, utilizing Control Rig and Character Creator skeletal mesh physics. This is still a work in progress: the developer has mentioned refining the weight and adjusting the angular damping, but the door still behaves strangely. It's a delicate and complex balance, and for now, the goal is to make it both functional and visually appealing.

Doors have always been a tricky element in games, often requiring a lot of hidden tricks and hacks to make them seem more realistic. Flacastrexy spent 8 hours working on this one, and the search for the perfect solution continues.
