Pin-Up-Style 3D Trash Can Animation With a Hilarious Ending

MetaMeta strikes again with a new amazing Blender project.

Digital Artist known as MetaMeta continues their series of stunning 3D pin-up animations made in Blender, unveiling yet another outstanding sequence inspired by the iconic 1950s aesthetic and the art styles of Gil Elvgren and Andrew Loomis.

Shifting from the delicious "Copium Cola" showcased earlier to something much less flavorful yet equally as great, the artist has now modeled a neat pedal-operated trash can and a Charlize Theron-looking character model opening and closing the lid. The animation wraps up with a hilarious ending, so be sure to watch it till the end.

As for the working process behind the sequence, MetaMeta followed the same pipeline they employed for the aforementioned "Copium Cola" project, setting up a toon shader using a technique similar to the one outlined in one of Lightning Boy Studio's tutorials, simulating brush strokes with a Normal Map and Grease Pencil, and finalizing the render in Blender Compositor. You can check out the full breakdown and find the tutorials the artist drew inspiration from by clicking this link.
