In case you missed it
Previous version
Pixar has released RenderMan 26.2, the newest version of its 3D rendering software for VFX and animation. This update, which follows the April release of RenderMan 26.1, primarily focuses on bug fixes.
Several new features have been added, including an advanced denoiser JSON configuration that lets you read from and write to multiple files, set up custom passes, and enable tiling to minimize memory usage for large images.
The denoiser also automatically supports OpenEXR input files with data windows and single channels. OpenEXR images now include metadata indicating which variant of RenderMan was used to render the image.
Disney/Pixar, Luca
The interactive denoiser has been updated to support Maya, Houdini, and Blender 4.2.
Numerous stability fixes and quality-of-life improvements have been made across multiple areas, including installation, RIS and XPU, volumes, stylization, and more. As for Linux users, RenderMan 26.2 now supports both RHEL7 and EL9 builds of the software.
