Find your way out of a demonic bloody ritual with the help of an instant camera connecting the human world with a supernatural one in MADiSON, a first-person psychological horror puzzle game.
Released back in 2022, MADiSON is a first-person horror game that clearly draws inspiration from Kojima Production's P.T., following the story of a teenage boy Luca finding himself covered in blood in a haunted house with his only chance to escape is using a possessed Polaroid camera for puzzle-solving and exploration.
MADiSON features the classic horror exposition and is narrated through cassette tapes, pictures, newspapers, and Luca's own commentary. And of course, there is Catholic imagery, chilling soundtrack, dream-like feverish sequences, and demonic possession, as Madison is actually a demon that haunts Luca.
As he paves his way by solving the riddles and completing the steps of a demonic ritual, the story unveils what happened to Madison and how it affected the inhabitants of the house. Each character revealed and mentioned has their own dark and disturbing story, that blends seamlessly into the main narrative.

Although there are supernatural creatures to encounter at times, there's no real combat to speak of except for a Polaroid camera which can flash to stun anything that gets too close but is mainly used as a puzzle-solving device to reveal clues that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye.
This mechanic makes the camera the most unique part of the game, turning it into an actual tool, unlike the camera in Outlast, for example, which is pretty much used for navigation in the dark. In MADiSON, however, you develop the photos you take manually and face the fear of revealing the truth.
