Play Chess Right Inside Houdini's Viewport

Absolutely anything can be a game engine if you push it far enough. SideFX's Mohamad Salame created this project to push both his skills and Houdini's capabilities, enabling you to play chess directly within Houdini's viewport using Python states to manage all the interactions. You can play either against another player or challenge the CPU. Also, you can replay your moves, as well as save and load them using JSON files.
This project is available for free download, and Mohamad encourages people to use it as a foundation for further improvement. For example, adding networking capabilities to send and receive moves between two computers for multiplayer or integrating advanced AI like Stockfish chess engine to provide move suggestions.
