Play Silent Hill 2 Remake in VR with Praydog's UEVR Mod

Download it if you are brave enough.

Bloober Team

This year’s The Game Rewards nominees just got unveiled, with Silent Hill 2 Remake making its way to nominations for four categories, including Best Action-Adventure Game, Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, and Best Score and Music. The visually stunning remake by Bloober Team has undoubtedly brought the horror game genre to the next level, but it seems not to have reached the bar of some fans.

And this time, it’s again the famous modder Praydog who would favor pushing the boundary of horror beyond the limit (first spotted by DSO Gaming). Thanks to their UEVR improvements, players, especially those whose bravery is way above average, can enter the town from a first-person perspective with their VR headset on. Watch the video below to have a look at how the game looks like with the mod:

The mod supports two-handed weapons and “fully immersive” melee combat swings, which remain “accurate to weapon's size, even with custom models.” With its contextual hit reactions, if an enemy is hit in the legs, it may kneel in pain and become incapacitated for a while. When inspecting items, they’ll be attached to the right hand while the map will be held to both hands, resembling what we usually do in real life.

If you believe this mod is designed for players like you, go ahead and download it on GitHub
