A bug caused a change of perspective.
A player accidentally discovered a third-person perspective in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but it is allegedly only a bug.
Spotted by PC Gamer, a Reddit user known as theraineydaze posted a video showing the gameplay footage from a third-person view, in which Indy walks and rides a speedboat. "Game got stuck in 3rd person," the player wrote. Supposedly, the glitch happened after loading the game from the main menu, in which players see Indy from a distance.
Given that the game's usual mode is first-person, it looks surprisingly detailed: the main character has shadows and scratches his head – elements that cannot be seen from a first-person view except for the main menu animations. Players in the comments note the high quality of the visuals: "Not as janky as you might expect considering you weren't meant to see these animations this way," writes user known as Plathismo; "The fact they added animations such as Indy scratching the back of his neck / head while thinking is crazy," says WixZ42.

In the comments, many players also share they would like the third-person view to be a real option for the game: "If they ever add a 3rd person optional mode that'll be cool," writes dolive11_vr_gamer; "I wish 3rd person was an option!!", reads the comment of Dark_Jungle_.
Players have been expressing their discontent over the game being first-person even before its launch. However, the developers shared that the first-person gameplay is the best option for the Indiana Jones games, as it "separates our game from many other action-adventure titles." "First-person gameplay is part of MachineGames' DNA, and we wanted to see how we could use this to create a really immersive experience around stepping into the shoes of the world's most famous archaeologist," said Jerk Gustafsson, the Director of the game.
