Player Tried to Finish Baldur's Gate 3 in Cat Form

They did. Kind of.

I've seen gamers show off their creative thinking, dedication, and a lot of free time in Baldur's Gate 3, but Proxy Gate Tactician decided to beat them all and complete the game in the cutest way possible – as a cat.

The YouTuber wanted to know if one could finish the RPG in a cat form using a Druid's spell, and the answer was both yes and no. After 41 hours, they did reach the end, but the cost and leeways were a little too high to consider it a truly cat-only challenge.

To get the form-changing spell, you need to get to level 2, so Proxy Gate Tactician had to finish the prologue as a boring human. They noted that cats, one of the weakest creatures at first, only take 1 damage from falling no matter the height, and "grow" their claws at level 4. Eventually, the character became a panther, which helped with damage but still left one of the main issues of the whole run untouched: no one wants to speak with cats, either big and menacing or small and cute, so taking quests was challenging and sometimes impossible.

In the end, Proxy Gate Tactician did complete the game but concluded that you can't fully beat Baldur's Gate 3 as a cat, at least not without some "cheating" like turning into a human once in a while and sticking Shadowheart into a burning box. The main difficulty turned out to be doors, which refuse to open for a cat (just like in real life), so you have to be creative to get over them. Maybe stack some boxes, I've heard it helps in any situation.
