Playground Games Working on An Open World Project
The creators of Forza Horizon are opening a new studio, which will work on a new non-racing project.
GamesIndustry.biz reported that the acclaimed company Playground Games (Forza series) is opening a new studio in Leamington Spa. The new offices will be occupied by an entirely new team, which will be working on a completely new game. Little is known about this project. We do know that it’s going to be an open world title and it will not be a racing title.
It will house a second team working on a brand new game. The developer is unable to share much about the project at this stage but has confirmed to us that it will be open world and not a racing game.

Basically, it means that there’s a huge employment opportunity in Britain right not. Currently, Playground Games employs 115 people. They want to grow their staff to 200 and probably more. Gamesindusty is pretty sure the company’s HR-team will have little trouble finding new people. Leamington Spa is already a huge hub for game development companies. There’s Codemasters, Modern Dream, Radiant Worlds, Ubisoft Leamington. There’s a lot o experience people out there., but they actually hire people from all over the world.
