The company confirmed the leak of employees' personal data.

Game Freak

Pokémon developer Game Freak suffered a major data leak, which the company confirmed in a recently released statement.

According to the statement, the leaked data included personal information of the company's employees due to unauthorized access. The breach occurred in August 2024. The compromised information included 2,606 items of personal data of the company's current and former employees.

Game Freak apologized for the incident and stated that it contacted the affected employees individually. For those who could not be reached individually due to resignation or other reasons, the company notified them with the announcement and set up a hotline. Game Freak reported that they rebuilt and re-inspected the server and would strengthen security measures.
