Pokémon Developer Is Working on a New Action-Adventure Game

Game Freak is partnering with Private Division to release Project Bloom.

The publishing label of Take-Two, Private Division, announced its partnership with Game Freak, the developer behind Pokémon games. Together, they are working on a game codenamed Project Bloom – a new action-adventure IP, "tonally different" from what Game Freak has created before.

“From the beginning, Private Division was the publisher we wanted to work with on our new game. Their track record and global expertise give us all the confidence to create a sweeping new action-adventure game that we can’t wait to share more about in the future,” said Kota Furushima, Director at Game Freak

Project Bloom is in early development now and doesn't have a release date, although it is expected to launch during Take-Two’s Fiscal Year 2026.
