Poliigon Introduces Universal Asset Browser Polydex
It's free in beta.
Poliigon
Blender Guru and Founder of Poliigon, Andrew Price, announced Polydex, a universal asset browser for all your 3D stuff. You might ask, "Why do we need another browser?" Price has the answer: Polydex is a smart system that not just detects maps and textures but also automatically combines files that should go together.
It works with any asset on your hard drive, not only from Poliigon, and identifies all the things it thinks are assets.
For example, Polydex displays an asset and its contents: texture maps, previews, and whatever else is connected.
It doesn't change your folder structure – something many artists will be happy to know. Just give it a folder, and Polydex will display everything inside, including other folders.
Polydex works with Blender at the moment, but import options for other major DCC software will be available in the future. The browser is free during beta testing and requires macOS 11+ or 64-bit Windows 10+.
Test Polydex out now and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, TikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
