Now includes bidirectional paths with adjustable width, a new option to paint paths, an updated stadium mode, and more.
Released last year, Population is a Blender tool that allows you to easily create and customize large crowds for your 3D scenes with just a few clicks, offering a library of 48 photoscanned characters and 55 animations created with motion capture.
The latest update of this crowd simulation tool brings even more options to diversify your scenes and create unique backgrounds. Now, the characters can cross paths in both directions, be painted directly into the scene, and distributed across surfaces in multiple ways.
The new Group mode adjusts crowd density based on the area, while the On Vertices mode positions characters according to the mesh. You can also adjust the width of the path if you've chosen for the characters to follow the curve and paint your crowd.
There's also an updated Stadium mode, offering options to create empty seats within a stadium crowd and allowing the crowd characters to turn and look at a target.
