Predator: Badlands, the ninth installment in the famous franchise, has just hit the screens, and if you're not sure whether you should check it out, director Dan Trachtenberg can help you decide.
In a video shared by ScreenTime, Trachtenberg was asked if there were any buddy road movies that inspired Badlands, and there were: films like Midnight Run and True Grit influenced the creation, but that's not all – video games also left their mark. Trachtenberg said that Uncharted, The Last of Us, and other games definitely inspired this part of the story.
The movie follows predator Dek and synthetic Thia on their journey to find and kill the Kalisk apex predator, so the inspiration reads pretty well in the buddy road side of the film.
Predator: Badlands was released in the US on November 7 and has been viewed favorably so far, with a 7.6 rating on IMDb and 85% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes.
