Pulldownit 5.0 for Maya Released

Thinkinetic announces that Pulldownit 5 for Maya is officially out and it brings major updates in performance and usability.

Pulldownit 5.0 fractures solver works 2 times faster and gets more debris in impact areas. Speaking of performance, PDI scenes also load 2 times faster in the new version.

When it comes to creating surface cracks, one of the new features is the ability to break along part of a curve. It allows the artists to get every crevice exactly the way they want. With Pulldownit 5.0 users can also reverse the direction of shattering of their mesh along the crack.

There is also an important upgrade in the way Jagginess works in the newly released Pulldownit. It only applies roughness to broken areas, which means lighter meshes are created for further rendering or working on them in game engines.

Shatter it tool has also been improved: the new Extent parameter can help you shrink the shatter area, thus increasing the density of fragments in the model. You can also now exclude part of the curve in Shatter it Draft Mode.

The new update is available for 64-bit Maya 2018+, and it supports Windows, macOS and Linux. Just like the earlier versions (starting with Pulldownit 4.0) Pulldownit 5.0 is subscription-only, and the cost starts from $328 (for node-locked licenses).

You can find more details about the Pulldownit 5.0 update in Thinkinetic's official blog. Also, don't forget to join our new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
