PureRef 2.1 Is Out Now
Introducing background grid, shapes, and support for six new languages.
PureRef, the popular reference-organizing tool for artists, has just rolled out a new update, its first since 2024. This release expands several existing features and introduces a handful of new ones, all aimed at making your workflow smoother and more efficient.
You can now step up your organization game by turning on a background grid. Two grid styles are available: a classic line grid and a dotted grid. Images and other items can snap automatically to the grid, even when the grid itself is hidden.
The drawing tool has also been improved with shape controls: create circles and ellipses, squares and rectangles, or straight lines. Also, PureRef now lets you resume where you left off by showing your recently opened files, when they were last used, and allowing you to pin favorite projects.
Six new interface languages have been added: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, improving accessibility for more users.
For the full list of updates, you can see the changelog. Also, Polygonflow recently launched FrameRef, a similar reference-organizing tool that adds video support and allows users to drag and drop videos directly from YouTube.
