QuakeCon 2023 is making a comeback as an in-person event this year. However, it will not feature an exhibit hall or general admission tickets.
Bethesda has made an official announcement for QuakeCon 2023, confirming that the event will take place in August 2023 and will mark the return of the in-person format after being digital-only for several years.
However, the upcoming event will feature noteworthy deviations from its past iterations. For QuakeCon 2023, the focus has been shifted from hosting a large-scale in-person event and show to a community-based BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN segment.
The "reimagined and upgraded" BYOC event will span four days of continuous gaming, along with other activities and meetups. QuakeCon 2023 will be a ticketed-only event, and admittance will be restricted to pre-registered BYOC guests.
The upcoming event will take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. It will feature several returning activities, such as the Tabletop Village, BYOC community events, and the QuakeCon Finals Party. Additionally, the annual Quake World Championships finale will be held during the event.
It's worth noting, however, that QuakeCon 2023 won't feature an exhibit hall or general admission activities.
QuakeCon 2023 has been scheduled to run from August 10-13, 2023. For those who cannot be physically present, all major showcases and announcements from the event can be watched live online via Twitch.
