More from the creator
Take a look at Spline Dynamics' RandoMixer – a 3ds Max plug-in that generates multiple variants or states of your scene, model, or character from sets of different elements and manages them within a collection.
The tool helps you manipulate your objects in a variety of ways: mix, combine, reorder, rearrange, randomize, switch places, apply transforms, manage visibility, add chaos, etc.
It works this way:
- Provide RandoMixer with a set of objects to work with.
- Choose the type of action/s to perform and adjust a few parameters.
- Press ‘Create Collection’. The script processes the objects, produces the number of variants or states you requir,ed and stores them in a collection.
- You can easily navigate and edit every frame (state) of the collection.
- Optionally, you can render the collection with a built-in function or export it to the 3ds Max timeline as an animation.
You can toggle between different objects with a single click, manipulate your objects by applying random transforms, switching places, controlling visibility, etc. There's also an option to create combinations of elements to produce unique outputs and create object states by saving transforms and visibility changes in a collection.
RandoMixer allows turning a group of replaceable body parts into a collection of unique randomly-generated characters. You can load the assets, set the categories, adjust the rarity for each element and let RandoMixer generate all the combinations for you. The collection can then be edited so that you can render the sequence with your favorite render engine.
The plug-in works with 3ds Max 2015 and higher. Check it out here.
