Meta is always busy with new high-tech products, so if you don't know what it's working on, Mark Zuckerberg is here to remind us all. A couple of years ago, the company announced Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, an AI-powered device that can take pictures, translate texts, and a lot more.
"The Ray-Ban Meta collection combines iconic design with cutting-edge, AI-enhanced technology. Listen, call, capture, livestream and ask Meta AI – all with your phone in your pocket."

In a recent Instagram post, Zuckerberg demonstrated some of the glasses' multimodal AI capabilities. He asked them to scan his shirt and pick matching pants, come up with a funny caption for an image, identify a type of fruit, and translate a meme. The system complied and did so admirably.
"Starting to test multimodal AI that can both see and hear on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses," Zuckerberg said, and it seems like the future from the movies is closer than expected.
A new Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses collection was officially introduced in September. Together with EssilorLuxottica, Meta improved the glasses' core features, adding new capabilities "that have never been seen on a pair of smart glasses before."
The sales started on October 17, so you can already buy a pair for $299, although it won't be as advanced as Zuckerberg's yet.
