Ready Player Me Is Launching an Experimental Generative AI Avatar Creator

Cross-game avatar platform for the metaverse Ready Player Me is starting an experimental trial where players can use AI to design their own avatar outfits.

The avatar creator is currently in beta and can be accessed for free. Players can utilize DALL-E's generative AI art platform, inputting text prompts to generate unique avatar attire.

Speaking to GamesBeat, Timmu Tõke, CEO of Ready Player Me, shared that the new avatar outfit customization feature is a project of Ready Player Me Labs, a new division dedicated to experimenting with new concepts.

Tõke believes that the use of generative AI will revolutionize the creation of 3D content and avatars. He states that the company is committed to staying ahead of the curve, understanding the evolving trends and adapting accordingly.

Along with the outfit customization feature, the Labs division is also working on other features and advancements in avatar customization.

This first release from Labs is a test version of the company's avatar creator which uses AI to personalize and add flair to the textures of avatar outfits. This is also the first time that the company will offer customization options for individual outfit pieces which, according to the company, was a highly requested feature by users.
