The update brings an automated workflow for transferring datasets to Unreal Engine 5, the ability to export models to Sketchfab at no additional cost, and more.
Capturing Reality announced the release of RealityCapture 1.2.1 Tarasque, a new and improved version of the company's robust photogrammetry software. Designed to further improve your pipeline, the updated version of the software brings an automated workflow for transferring large datasets from RealityCapture to Unreal Engine 5, the ability to export models to Sketchfab at no additional cost, and tons of other new features that will make your photogrammetry workflow more convenient.
Here are some of RC 1.2.1 Tarasque's features:
- Export to Sketchfab at no additional cost using PPI license (limitation 300k polygons and 1 x 4k texture).
- Automated workflow for transferring large datasets from RC to UE5.
- Under-the-hood improvements for easier cloud deployment.
- RealityCapture to Unreal Engine Optimizations.
- An extended console view with a command line and new command line commands.
- UI improvements.
The company has also announced that it is moving the Capturing Reality Support community forum to the Epic Developer Community, Epic Games' platform for sharing projects and learning materials.
"As part of this transition, the Capturing Reality Support page will be redirected to EDC starting today. If you cannot find specific content on the EDC, please be aware we are still in the process of migrating all content from the CR Support page," reads the announcement. "You will be able to log in to the Epic Developer Community with the same credentials you use to log in to the Capturing Reality MY account (the account must be migrated to Epic Games). Rest assured that although we are updating the community platform, nothing about the way we process your information has changed."
