First announced back in November 2021, Reallusion's Character Creator 4 has finally been released. For those who don't know, CC4 is a full character creation solution for designers to easily generate, import, and customize stylized or realistic character assets for use with iClone, Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, or any other 3D tools.
According to the team, the updated version of Character Creator will connect industry-leading pipelines with one system for 3D character generation, animation rig, asset management, look-dev rendering, and interactive design.

The team has also revealed a long-awaited iClone 8, a new and improved version of Reallusion's real-time 3D animation software for films, previz, animation, video games, content development, education, and art.
"Integrated with groundbreaking real-time technologies, iClone 8 simplifies the world of 3D Animation in a user-friendly production environment that blends character animation, scene design, and cinematic storytelling; quickly turning imagination into a reality," commented the team.
iClone 8 Features:
- Motion Director: The new Motion Director system debuts game-play controls to drive characters and apply motion triggers and dynamic cameras to direct scenes in real-time.
- Motion Editing: iClone 8 offers massive innovation for motion creation and editing. It provides powerful editing capabilities while keeping the process simple and intuitive.
- Enhanced Real-Time Visuals: iClone 8 real-time render has been enhanced with Volumetric Light, Light Enhancement, Lens Flare, Mirror Plane Shader, and Motion Blur updates.
- Performance: The software architecture of iClone 8 has been optimized, and more new features will be introduced to handle big-scale projects.
- RTX GPU-Based Path-Trace Renderer: iClone 8 can connect to NVIDIA Omniverse – an RTX GPU-based path-traced render engine, which supports USD (Universal Scene Description) data architecture for collaborative design projects.
