Rockstar Revealed That Red Dead Online Progress Can Be Transferred from Stadia

The streamer who logged 6,000 hours of playtime on the Stadia edition of Red Dead Online shared the message from the Rockstar support team revealing that some players will be able to transfer all their progress from Stadia to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Rockstar Games will apparently allow players to transfer their Red Dead Online progress from Stadia to other platforms, it was recently revealed. However, this will only apply to certain users.

The news was revealed by streamer Colour, who is known for logging 6,000 hours of playtime on the Stadia edition of Red Dead Online.

The YouTube creator previously shared that, despite Google stating that all Stadia-related purchases will be refunded when the platform shuts down, he was still worried that he could lose all of the currency and progression that he had on Stadia after nearly 6,000 hours of playing the game there, especially given that Red Dead Online doesn't exactly have cross-progression.

Luckily, things turned out great for the streamer. On October 20, he posted a Tweet attaching a screenshot of a message from a Rockstar support account which states that players will be able to transfer all their progress from Stadia to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, including currency, gold bars, and experience.

According to the message, to do this, players will need to link their game's account to the Social Club account and reach out to the Rockstar support team who will help players transfer their saved game progress.

In the message, Rockstar also clarified that only those who played Red Dead Online within the 30 days prior to the official announcement of the Google Stadia closure will be able to transfer their progress.

Apparently, Colour's situation complies with these conditions as the streamer posted this message referring to it as "good news." In a separate tweet, Colour thanked players and journalists for sharing his story – in his opinion, if it weren't for them, Rockstar probably would not have responded.
