Resident Evil 2 Remake Sales Surpassed 10 Million Copies
The game managed to hit this milestone in a little over three years.
Capcom announced that the sales of Resident Evil 2 Remake have surpassed 10 million copies. The number includes combined sales of digital and physical copies across the various platforms the game is available on. To celebrate the 10 million mark, Capcom Division 1, the studio responsible for the Resident Evil 2 remake, posted a tweet thanking all the fans of the Resident Evil series.
The Resident Evil 2 Remake was released on January 25, 2019, which means that the game managed to hit this significant milestone in just a little over three years. The title first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and last month it also received PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions.
The new figures also mean that Resident Evil 2 Remake sold more copies than the original game whose sales reach 4.96 million. The best-selling title in the series, however, remains Resident Evil 5, which has about 13 million units sold.
Capcom also provided a sales update on the entire Resident Evil series, sharing that cumulative shipments of all the games in the franchise now exceed 125 million units since the first title debuted in 1996.
