Resident Evil 2 Remake Sells 12.6M Copies, Becomes The 3rd Most Successful Game in the Series

Since March 31st, users have bought additional 700,000 copies of the Resident Evil 2 remake with the total number of copies sold reaching 12.6 million units. The remake is now ahead of Resident Evil 7 (12.4 million copies) becoming the third best-selling game in the series.

What is the best-selling game in the series? It is still Resident Evil 5 that sold 13.9 million copies. As for the sixth installment, the game sold 11.1 million units. Still, Resident Evil is not Capcom's most precious project as Monster Hunter: World sold 19 million copies taking the top spot.

Getting back to the zombie series, Resident Evil 4 Remake, across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, and PC has sold 4.9 million units (1.2 million additional units since March 31, 2023).

1. Resident Evil 5: 13.9 million copies
2. Resident Evil 4 (Remake): 12.8 million copies
3. Resident Evil 2 (Remake): 12.6 million copies
4. Resident Evil 7: 12.4 million copies
5. Resident Evil 6: 11.1 million copies

As for publisher's latest title, Street Fighter 6 (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, PC), the game has already topped two million units as of July 6.
