Theorycraft Games studio will focus on developing massive PvP games.

League of Legends

Six industry veterans from Riot Games raised $37.5 million to open a new studio, Theorycraft Games. The investments came from NetEase, NEA, Bitkraft Ventures, Griffin Gaming Partners, Sisu Game Ventures as well as other small groups.

We’re on a mission to make deep, 10,000-hour games that are just better when played with friends. We believe games serve fundamental human needs: the need to belong; the need to express one’s creativity; the need to master something. We’re hellbent on serving those needs better than anyone else, by making unapologetically deep games that give everyone the chance to connect, to compete, and to be infinitely delighted by the stories they are at the center of.

Team’s announcement on the official website.

The studio will have offices in Seattle and Los Angeles. The team members’ experience in the industry includes working on such titles as Valorant, Overwatch, Halo, League of Legends, and Dota 2. Michael Evans took the role of a chief technology officer while Areeb Pirani is a chief operating officer. In the art department, Mike Tipul from Bungie is a chief creative officer, and Moby Francke is responsible for art direction.
