Will we hear more about Deadlock soon?
Fans have been excitedly discussing Valve's upcoming game for days now, eager to learn more about Deadlock, and they might receive an announcement soon, at least according to YouTuber Tyler McVicker.
All we know about Deadlock is that it's a competitive third-person 6 vs. 6 hero-based shooter set on a four-lane map. It is described as a "combination of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, and Orcs Must Die" featuring playable abilities and items, tower defense mechanics, robots, and a fast-travel system with floating rails.
McVicker claims that "hundreds" of people are playtesting the game in alpha, including Valve's employees and some YouTubers who can also suggest other players for participation. There are so many individuals involved that McVicker is surprised Deadlock hasn't been leaked sooner.
While there is no date for the game's announcement, McVicker noted that Valve had revealed its previous titles weeks after a similar closed alpha test, and the leaks might bump the news further.
I think June is a great month for the Deadlock announcement as it's traditionally the month of game reveals concentrated in E3 before it was closed. We might also hear about the next Call of Duty appearing on Game Pass from day one at the same time.
