Back in May, Bethesda announced that on-land vehicles would finally find their way to Starfield (almost a year after saying boost packs should be enough for planet exploration). When the rovers will actually appear in the game is a mystery, however, one internet user is sure it will happen in the next update. Some details about the vehicles surfaced on Reddit, and while they aren't that spoilery, I suggest you don't read further if you want them to be a surprise.
The original poster says that there are 2 versions of the vehicle: with and without a roof, and both have their own weapons "which scale depending on your certified skills, first one is a laser mode that allows you to have bullet time and second one is a launcher." The ATVs don't need a hab, you can just purchase it, and it will appear by your ship.
According to the report, they are invulnerable, don't have fuel requirements, and move thanks to vertical and horizontal boosters. As for customization, you will be able to change the colors of the car. While NPCs can't drive ATVs, they can take a passenger seat.
As usual, take it with a grain of salt, although this is likely what every player expected when they heard about Starfield's future on-land vehicles. The important part is that they should arrive with the next update if the information is to be believed.
