Rumor: Rockstar Is In Talks With Top Roblox, Fortnite & GTA 5 Content Creators

While speculations and imaginations surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 have been circulating, they are all about in-game elements, like how massive and dynamic the world would be, smarter NPCs, creative quest design, or unexpected narrative plots or themes. Now, a new rumor has suggested that the developer might be focusing not only on the game itself but also expanding the game's universe using out-of-game powers.  

This intention has been reported by Digiday, whose three anonymous sources said that Rockstar Games has reached out to some "top Roblox and Fortnite creators, as well as dedicated GTA content creators."

Their discussions focused on the possibility of creating custom experiences within GTA 6. "These experiences would allow creators to modify the game's environment and assets to bring their own intellectual property — and potentially their brand sponsors — into GTA’s virtual sandbox."

It's said that their conversations have remained "open-ended," and there has been no information on how the content creators would benefit from such cooperation beyond being present in arguably one of the most anticipated titles in the gaming community. There is no mention of whether such a plan would be applied to the online mode, although this seems more likely.

In 2023, Rockstar acquired the Cfx.re team, which is known for its roleplay servers for GTA V (FiveM) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (RedM). The company said it had been excited about the community's creativity on roleplay servers for several years and wanted to support this direction by providing the authors with even more opportunities. 

It would be too early to say that GTA 6 will become a metaverse-style platform where user-generated content shines bright, almost as bright as the game itself. But this could be an interesting attempt and forecast endless possibilities for the content we might see originating from the game.
