Sledgehammer Games was founded by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, the creators of Dead Space. Now, you can only find it assisting other studios in developing Call Of Duty. However, it might soon change.
According to the CoD player and leaker TheGhostOfHope, Sledgehammer will lead its own Call Of Duty set for 2027, after Infinity Ward's 2026 game, which is presumably Modern Warfare 4.
The 2007 project is not a "year 2" MW title, TheGhostOfHope says. "Unclear as of yet if it's possibly Advanced Warfare 2 or something new."
While rumors are only that – speculation, its own game would be great for Sledgehammer and perhaps better shape its identity, although we can't forget that it's still owned by Activision, which undoubtedly calls the shots.
Perhaps we will see something as great as Dead Space from the team again one day.
Meanwhile, in 2025, players can look forward to what looks like a Black Ops 2 sequel set in the early 2030s. It is rumored to continue the Black Ops storyline with David Mason as the protagonist and feature mechanics from Black Ops 6, like its body shield and Omnimovement.
