Or they were before the grand fiasco.
We all know The Day Before as the biggest failure of 2023. What was once the most wishlisted game on Steam quickly became players' enemy number one, trying to rob them if not of their money then of their time. It took the game three days to fall apart and make the developer Fntastic close its doors.
The shooter's troubled development didn't deter the studio from making ambitious plans. According to CD-Action's sources, Fntastic started working on a new mobile game months before The Day Before's launch on December 7. The founders were looking for veteran developers and sent out offers to all employees, including those who were fired because of the studio heads' reportedly problematic personalities.

As far as I understand, Fntastic (or what's left of it) is still busy with the project, although I can't confirm it. Unfortunately, there is no information about its name or anything else as it's kept secret. I have my doubts about this game, to be honest. On the one hand, you shouldn't give up your dream after one failed attempt, but on the other, the studio's founders Eduard and Aisen Gotovtsev do have a certain reputation now, so anything they make will be met with scrutiny and likely hurt the product. Then again, such PR is also PR, which might help them get enough attention to get the project sailing.
Meanwhile, The Day Before servers will be closing on January 22.
