Shapelab Max 2026 Is Out Now
This release overhauls the Gizmo system and introduces the new Elastic Move tool for more intuitive character shaping and posing.
Just like this time last year, the new version of the 3D sculpting app Shapelab, now called Shapelab Max, has arrived, with the name change distinguishing the regular edition from the standalone VR headset versions.
With this release, the Gizmo system has been completely overhauled. Key improvements include a new visual design, non-uniform scaling, and interactive widgets that act as shortcuts for critical transform behaviors.
The new Elastic Move tool brings Pixar's real-time elastic deformation technique to Shapelab, giving artists an intuitive, physically responsive way to reshape models similar to the liquify tool, especially useful for organic forms and posing. It enables real-time soft deformation within a falloff radius, allowing geometry to bend and stretch more fluidly and naturally while maintaining volume integrity.
Shapelab Max 2026 also introduces voxel remeshing updates, better symmetry operations, and numerous workflow changes.
