The company has discussed proceduralism in printing, SOP-Based FLIP fluids, and a simple approach to VFX.
SideFX has shared three sessions from the first Belgrade HUG Kick-off Event, where presenters discussed proceduralism in printing, SOP-Based FLIP fluids, and a simple approach to VFX in Houdini.
Nikola Damjanov talked about how Houdini is translated to print form, both 2D and 3D. He demonstrated some of his work and shared his experience and the challenges he faced.
In the next session, Bogdan Amidžić and Igor Žanić looked at a complex FX shot and suggested a simple approach to achieving the look. The tips provided at the presentation encompass and affect your work in Houdini, like kitbashing FX and separate HDAs for trails and splashes, as well as your hardware resources.
In the third presentation, Igor Žanić talked about SOP-based FLIP fluids and demonstrated custom boundaries and simplified examples of how to take low-resolution simulations, partially upres them, and blend between the two.
