Unity Asset Store creators can now start selling content directly in Sinespace.
Sine Wave Entertainment announced a sales agreement between the Unity Asset Store and Sinespace, Sine Wave’s free-to-play online virtual world platform, and sandbox MMO.
"We’re excited to announce this opportunity both for gamers and our community of content creators, who will now have access to over a million assets through Sinespace, and be able to sell their 3D models directly to consumers," said Unity’s Peter O’Reilly, head of commercialization. "It’s a great opportunity that allows us to develop the huge, fast-growing virtual goods market."
The platform is now in soft beta with nearly half a million registered users, and paying users are said to spend an average of $30/month. Sine Wave plans to officially launch the platform later this year and also set up content partnerships with top comic book publishers and record labels, live event companies, game studios, and a major toy manufacturer.
You can learn more about the program here. Sign up, go through a short review, and your Asset Store content will be automatically ported into the Sinespace in-game shop.
You will also need to choose a pay-out option, PayPal or wire transfer, to collect sales. The team noted that creators split the revenue with Sine Wave on a 70/30 basis.
